    Default Seymour, Version 3.0

Okay, so I'm on Mount Gagazet... or rather, on the way down from Mount Gagazet. Anyway, I keep getting smacked around like a rag doll against Seymour, and there's little progress being made on my part. Can I get a little love from the crowd?

Oh, yes, so you know a little bit about my circumstances... my characters aren't really ultimate fighting machines, under any circumstances, but they are respectably tough... At least in my opinion. Auron, not surprisingly, is the strongest of the bunch, and he's the only one topping 3500 HP at the moment. Lulu and Yuna have enough MP to last for days, although they've been lacking in HP, since neither has more than 2000 (it's like 1800 and 1900, respectably). Tidus and Kimahri seem to be mostly ineffective, since both of 'em are physically based, but Wakka has had a little more success.

What can I do from here?

    @.@;

my yuna had 3000 hp then? X.x you could always give her and lulu a hp+ armor? (I got a hp +20% bangle for lulu and kept it on her for about half the game so far)

Hmm, if you have trouble, the worst you could do is just keep attacking the mortibody thing over and over. That's pretty miserable though.

The good thing about seymour being on *Gagazet* is that they have fairly tough monsters there (miserably tough) and there's a save point so close by. Fight some more monsters to get them to be a bit more of killing machines? (customize some nice str+% and mag+% equipment? don't bother talking to seymour, because it doesn't appear to do any good except in battle? and you could be using those turns? Get holy water from Whatshisname back on the mountain. . .

use all your aeons' overdrives? (too bad he kills them all. makes yuna's overdrive a bit useless here)

I wish you luck though. and lots of it.

Charge up all your aeon's overdrives before you fight him.

believe in your self....thats the key in this game..all that corny stuff pepole tell you all the time...is to set you up for this..dont give up...ever..i beat seymour with much lower stats then you did...no items...just used overdrives wisely and aeons i think i finished him with 9999 from shiva...with an overkill..very cool..good luck fellow "good taste in games" friend..good luck

I'm not going to even pretend like I'm great at giving advice, I'm not, but I'll give one tip that someone else has allready mentioned, get yuna in overdrive before you go in *or* make sure Bahamut's overdrive bar is full, and summon him. You only have one turn before Seymour's banish's any aeons you might summon so immeadietly Mega Flare his ass. I took off about 25.000 hp of him that way,...or was it more? I cant remember, was a while ago. Do this towards the end of the battle, and uh,...try to concentrate on Seymour more then the mortibody. And when he zombie's someone, try and use holy water on then quick? Ah! been ages since I fought him. Personally I beat him first time I ever did it, however I think it was abit of a fluke.

    Default Bad memories...

Try playing Blitzball until you get a couple of Master Spheres, then teach Ultima to Yuna and Lulu, or Doublecast and Ultima to one. Make sure you start with everyone in OD, and Wakka has Attack Reels. Start the battle with Tidus, Yuna, and Rikku. Use Rikku's Mix to get Hyper Mana, or if you have Three Stars, that's even better. Have Tidus use Hastega, or Kimahri use Mighty Guard. Have Yuna repeatedly Doublecast Ultima, and have Wakka perform Attack Reels. You likely won't need Auron unless you need Break abilities. At least, that's how I did it. Use Aeon Overdrives as needed.

Hope it helps. BTW, I'm pretty sure you get Master Spheres from playing blitz, but if I'm wrong, just get a lv 4 Key Sphere, teleport to Kimahri's area, then just get Ultima then.

Meh. The key to winning in pretty all of the FF games is to train. And if you really want to beat him, then get all of the characters you use through at least their area. And possibly through another. Or more , depending on how much you want to beat him.
Well, you're going to have to train anyway, because you have to fight - (SPOILER)Yunalesca- a little bit after seymour, so it's best you get 2 times as better.
Sorry if it's confusing, i'm kinda tired right now...

Thanks to Sagensyg for the sig!

Quickest and easiest method, I'd say. In my first game I had to resort to this, because I have a habit of being horrendously over-levelled. In my second game, I didn't have that much trouble. Aeon's are useful for taking power hits and dealing a lot of damage. For example Seymour's Lance of Astrophy and Life 2 combo won't work on an Aeon, because they're immune to undead.

I'd also suggest that if it's his powerful attack (I forget what it's called) that's giving you trouble, as soon as he hints at using it (I'm pretty sure some indication is given), summon an Aeon to take the hit for you.

I'm sorry I can't be that much help, I haven't played the game in quite some time.

Make Yuna cast Shell (Not protect) on everyone before Mortiorchis does Total Annihilation. Then make the other characters defend themselves (Triangle) I made sure that Auron and Kimahri were the ones I cast shell on because they had the highest HP. Make sure everyone has a go and uses their overdrive. Make sure that all of the Aeons have full overdrives too. After everyone has done their overdrive and all the Aeons have too, he should die.

There's a cave around the road to Mt. Gagazet (where you fight that boss on the bridge), and in there you find Yojimbo. It's quite possible, with enough money, to have Yojimbo with you against Seymour.

    Ok, Strider.... now listen!

    1) You don't really need to go and level up for thousands of hours but doing it a bit may help... however... you should be able to take him down with your current party without too much trouble.

    2) Like others have said... fill your aeons overdrive bars before the battle. Seymour will kill your aeons with a "unsummon move" but before he do that you'll be able to unleach their overdrives... so just summon them and then use their overdrives at once.

    3) When Seymour use reflect on himself, try to dispell it. This will make him cast spells like Flare on himself (atleast that happened to me). He won't take extremely much dammage but still a noticable amount + it won't hit you.

    4) Many seems to forget about items and stick with white magic. Don't be afraid of using megaelexirs in hard situations, you can get more of those later. There's many useful items, so take advantage of them.

    5) Don't forget to effectively use the character switching to protect wounded characters in dangerous situations.

    6) Whenever 1 of your characters are turned "zombie", use a holy water to cure the status effect. Take your time to think during the battle, FFX don't use the ATB system, so take advantage of it and don't rush.

    Hope this helps.
