Thread: Aeris' Ultimate Weapon

  1. #1

    Default Aeris' Ultimate Weapon

Aeris' ultimate weapon can be found in the Temple of the Ancients, right?

Well, I've missed it and was wondering if it can be gotten any other way, like in the Bone Village. Can it?

Actually, no, I don't think you get get her weapon until (SPOILER)after she dies Not exactly something that will surprise any of you, but I like being cautious. I KNOW it's not until then that you get access to her final limit. Pretty sad, eh?

I always get her limit right before the boss battle in the Temple. She doesn't really have an 'ultimate weapon', at least not like the other ones with 8 linked no growth slots. Her Princess Guard, which is pretty good, can be found in Temple of Ancients. I'm not sure what weapon Udsuna is referring to. I think there is a stronger weapon for her that you can get in Speed Square, but if I recall correctly it has no materia slots, which for me would make it inferior.

He's probably talking about the Parasol which actually disappears from Speed Square after, yeah.
Aeris has no new weapons after that happens.

Eh, maybe you're right. Or maybe the PC (my) version is different from the PSX.

I don't think they would give Aeris a new weapon when she can't use it.

Though they do give Vincent one for before you get him.

However, they won't give someone (Aeris) a new weapon after the "incident"

You can get new weapons for her, but I don't see why you would.

She does not have an eight slot/no materia growth weapon though, and her best weapon is basically the Princess Guard, which you get in the Temple of the Ancients, right before the incident. Getting her best limit is a real pain to do before the incident, as you have to know exactly what you are doing in order to get it. Someone playing through without a guide or talking to people for the first time has almost no chance of getting it.

I actually have a question about her final limit break, as I've never been able to get it.

(SPOILER) I understand all that about having to have an even or odd number of wins in order to get the mythril. However, are those total party wins (regardless of whether or not Aeris is in you party) or total party wins WHEN Aeris is in your party OR is it total kills made by Aeris? And also, the walkthrough says you can get more mythril if you go talk to the man once you meet the requirements for an even/odd number of wins, but he always gives me the thunder ring, or whatever. I want Great Gospel, dang it ;_;.

    Signature by rubah. I think.

You're in luck. I can tell you just how to get it.

(SPOILER)First, you take the car across the ocean to reach the guy (this was what took me the longest to figure out). Then talk to him when the number of wins ends in the same last two digits (ie: 199, 200, 333, 788...). If you get the Thunder Ring, fight enough battles to get the number to the next viable value, and try again (ie: you get the Thunder Ring at 133, get 144 and talk to him again). That should get it for you. If it still doesn't, try talking to him when the number of times you've run away ends in the same last two digits (ie: you've run away 11 times). You should have it by the time you do all of this. If not (it's worked every time for me though), reload (from before you got the Thunder Ring) and try again.

Aeris' ultimate weapon is in fact the Princess Guard, and it is acquired in the Temple of the Ancients. Yes, the Umbrella has a higher attack power, but has no materia slots (akin to weapons like the Nail Bat, the Mop, etc.)
Interestingly, the Umbrella is acquired by scoring 5000 or above at Speed Square early in the game. In the later going, the prize for 5000 is Cid's weapon, the Flayer, which has an attack power of 100 (greater than the 97 of his ultimate weapon, Venus Gospel).

And, yes, Aeris' final limit break can be acquired before (well, we probably all know). The procedure is a bit complex, but hardly impossible.

Actually, her level 4 limit break is quite easy to get. Since you have to use your x/1 limit break a certain amount of times in battle, just manipulate a monster, and have it attack her, and since her limts are all curative, she can use her limit as many times as you want in 1 battle. then just have her kill all the enemies. Only took me about 40 minutes to level her up to limti 3/3. then after that it was cake getting the mythril to the guy.
