Well, FFTA is definitely my favorite FF for the GBA (since I haven't picked up any of the remakes of the originals yet ). I am usually this strategic on every RPG I play, be it FF, Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem... My personality leans a bit towards the obsessive perfectionist style of doing things (but just a bit. Really. Honest. ), so I enjoy working out strategies like this. It's a bit more complicated then most people's strategies, since you have to equip your entire team right in order to exploit a single skill, but it is a nearly unbeatable tactic if you do set it up. It has a few flaws. The first is that you will have trouble using this strategy if there are undead monsters who will get hit by the spell, since it will heal them too. Solve this problem with a character with the Burial and Concentrate Abilities (Archers can learn them). If you hit an undead monster with Burial (or Exorcise, for that matter, but only Bangaa can learn that one, it is not long range, and Bangaa can't learn Concentrate) it keeps them from coming back three turns after you kill them. You can also use some well placed holy spells (Angel Whisper, if you want to use only Blue Magic). The only other major drawback is that Paladins, Defenders, Dragoons, and the class which no one has named yet (c'mon, it's not that hard. There's only one other class in the game that is only capable of equipping Armor and Robes, don't any of you know what it is?) can't equip the Bone Armor and absorb Dark damage. Solve this by finding one of the few items they can equip that nullify Dark damage (I don't think they can equip anything that can absorb it, but I'll check and report in tomarrow), or just don't use them. Since my favorite class for Marche (or Skyblade, as I named him ) is Paladin, this is the biggest drawback of this otherwise awesome strategy. Still, with just two Blue Mages you can get a force that is practically invincible and never runs out of MP. I think it'll take me a while to think of a tactic that will trump this one, since it is better in many ways than the more common ones like Assassins with Concentrate, Summoners with Doublecast, Humans with Hunting (instant Mateus), and Gunners with Ultima Charge, but I'll keep at it. Oh, and leave the two Blue Mages in the back. This keeps them out of harms way, and Lv? S-Flare has the same range as a Totema (the entire field), so whatever class you are using for melee (without Paladins, Defenders, Dragoons, and ????, you'll be stuck with the ones I like less, such as Fighters and Gladiators) can soak up the damage and be healed without needing to worry about your healers getting in trouble. Couple this with an accessory that nulls Death (if you're fighting Ahrimans, since Roulette can take one of your Blue Mages out from across the field) and you won't have to worry about a thing ((SPOILER)until you get to the hidden missions and the laws that change during battle. God, I HATED that).

My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

The only advice I can give you is to keep taking missions. Even after you complete a mission, when it shows back up, take it again. The Gil bonus for many of the later missions is enough to buy 99 Curealls. You will also get items that you can sell to make more cash. But really, if you are working on maximizing monster stats, don't rush. Complete a few missions/battles, feed some monsters, complete a few more... It will take lots of money. Only try it if you've already bought everything you need from the stores, and then just work on it whenever you have spare cash.

    Skyblade, you are the master.

The "Hunting" ability is a Hunter A-Ability. It reduces the damage of your attack by half, but if you kill an enemy (or a friend, for that matter) with it, you will receive 10 JP instead of 1 JP (unless Hunt is outlawed, or Damage to Animals, the weapon you're using, etc). This means that you can summon Mateus (only Humans can be Hunters) and pick off any survivors that are left (if there are any, which doesn't happen often) with a weakened attack that will give you 10 JP. Really helpful with a Time Mage that knows Quicken, or a Juggler who knows Smile, so that you can take your next turn immeadiately and take the enemy out before he can heal himself. If all your enemies die, then you just need to get an enemy down to low health in the next battle (Demi and Quarter, also for Time Mages, work well here too. You just need to get it low enough that half of your character's attack will kill it), and hit it with Hunting. Enemy dies, you get 10 JP, summon Mateus, and the battle is over.

In regards to the Monster Bank: The maximum stats for Attack, Defense, Magic Power, and Magic Resistance are 999. Speed maxes at 100, and the other stats (movement, evade, etc...) won't change.

(SPOILER)When you complete all 300 of the game's standard missions (Reserve Missions like My Mission don't count, nor do the ones you will get once you complete all 300. Only the 300 that are in your clan report) you will gain access to an Extra Mission. It is the first of a long (and very fun) series of missions, involving corrupt judges. Make sure your clan is not full when you accept this mission, since you will gain a new character if you have space: Cid. His class is Judgemaster, and he uses the Advanced Law A-Ability set which includes: Yellow Clip (instantly nullifies a Yellow Card), Judge Sword (Does full attack damage and steals JP), Bind (Immobilize and Disable, 3 square range), JP Gift (allows him to give his JP to someone right next to him), and Abate (one of the most awesome spells in the game. 32 MP, but it casts Stop on the Judge. It's not permanent, but it lasts for a very long time. While the Judge is stopped, you will not get carded for infractions, or receive JP for kills, but it is definately worth having). Cid can equip every piece of equipment that Paladins can equip (making him the fourth class in the game who can't wear Clothing, only Armor and Robes), and he has nice stats (also approximately equal to a Paladin's stats). Oh, and while he can't use combo abilities (he can't change jobs, so he can't learn combo moves), he can summon Mateus with 10 JP. Anyway, the corrupt judges missions start out fighting against the judges who are selling immunity. Marche accepts the mission and buys immunity from a judge. Cid shows up and stops the deal right before Marche gets immunity (Damnit! >.<), and Marche reveals who he is (he actually does wear that hood! ), that he is working for the JudgeWatch board, and that the deal was a set up to catch the judge selling immunity. The judge refuses to go down without a fight, and Cid joins you in this battle, then offers to join your clan in order to go undercover against the corrupt judges. As the missions continue, a new problem is discovered: "Blank Card" laws. These let people rewrite the laws however they like (leading to some very interesting laws [don't worry, these don't affect battle] like the "Kissing" law, the "No Full HP" Law, the "No Answer" law, etc...). You fight lots of these (and they are all worth refighting, since each of the major characters has some hilarious comments if they are the first one put into battle, and Marche isn't in battle [he'll talk if he is, even if he's put in last]), and at this point your enemies will gain an ability called "Blank Card". It randomly changes the laws around, which means you have to check them after almost every one of the main enemies turns. I'll leave the rest up to you to discover...

No problem. It's nice to share this sort of info.

Oh, and yuripa, when you asked if I had any more, did you mean more of the complex ones, or more of the simple ones? I can probable give you a couple more of both, but I'd prefer if you told me which type you were looking for...

Thanks! With the very long spoiler you put in i thought you were giving away too much away for me so i stopped when you started to talk about Marche... i would tell you exactly which bit but i have seem to have lost the spoiler button...

the simple ones sorry....but if you can be bothered typing id like to know some more complex one...i quoted the bit about... ill just quote it again...

...in many ways than the more common ones like Assassins with Concentrate, Summoners with Doublecast, Humans with Hunting (instant Mateus), and Gunners with Ultima Charge
that bit there so i would of thought you thought the simple ones...

    Thanks!

This is going off topic too much (its turned into Job Classes and Job Class combinations and strageties and i am just about to go more off subject) so ive decided i am going to open a new general FFTA thread where we can talk about strageties and everything without going off topic and going to many different threads to find what you want...so your answer to the question(s?) above can they go in the thread going in now (ill call it something like General FFTA(yeah thats probably it))
    ok see you in there!
