The way I always saw it is that we, the people of the United States of America, have the right to own a gun so the government will not step out of line. The right to bear arms isn't to go duck hunting. It's there so if we need guns, for whatever reason, they will be easy to get.Though this is really another topic for another debate, there is a great struggle in this country on where a citizen's rights really stand. The 2nd amendment is the right to own a gun within a standing militia, which to the best of my knowledge means, that you can own a gun when there is fear of invasion and militias are formed in place of a standing army, not the right to own a gun because one can.
My brother received that letter in an e-mail months ago and I'm sure it didn't say it was written by John Cleese...

Yeah, chances are it was just some bored fat guy who threw on the big name to get attention. Somehow, I just don't see Cleese using percentiles in his work. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think those are too much an "americanism" to fit, anyways.

The whole sports thing kind of irritated me.I hope that no one from the UK actually thinks a country who plays a sport thats not in any other country should be abandoned.
I hate guns...but I didn't bother reading though the whole thing. People say "OMFG I NEED MY GUN TO PROTECT MYSELF!" but you wouldn't need a gun if they didn't have a gun too...it doesn't make sense.
But I'm not going to bother arguing it because no one wants peace, everyone just wants to kill and see people suffer as long as it isn't them, and no one gives a damn what I have to say when I'm not agreeing with them.

thats true but America should never have let it get so carried away with guns, last year in great britain the police ran this amnesty program were people could hand in their guns, i think the gun owners got paid for it(im not sure on this point) all identities were kept secret and it seemed to work, thousands of guns were handed in
