    Default Ban on Fox Hunting

this really only applies to great Brittish members of the forums, so whats your oppinion on the fox hunting ban, do you think it's about time or is foz-hunting now such a part of our tradition that it shouldnt be done away with it

personnaly i think that fox hunting is cruel and inhumane, but thats my oppinion

Whee, let's shoot an defenseless animal because it has no voice and it'd make me look awesome to have a fox pelt.

Honestly, hunting is horrible unless it's actually for food.

okay for you Americans that dont know the basics, fox hunting was done as a pest control method, which is why there is the argument against the ban, although it is a very cruel way of doing so and people do it for fun,

i disagree with fox-hunting. Especially when the hunt goes by my parents house and im trying to sleep .
You dont need that many people with guns and dogs to kill one fox; who cares if its a tradition- if we look at it that way, why not bring back the tradition of no votes for women, or bear-baiting?? NO, because these things are wrong.

You can still shoot foxes, you can still use dogs to flush them out. The ban just means that the dogs can't kill the fox.

this was never about the fox, in reality being shot is just as painful and torturous as being bitten on the back of the neck by hounds. It was allways an attack upon the countryside middle class by a labour party far short of left wing policys that it's supporters demand.

fox can be hunted in a way like deer/or elk here in america (the two are different in hunting methods believe it or not). or you can use cage traps. the whole horse, dog thing is a waste of energy.

Being wise comes in two parts: 1) having a lot to say and 2) not saying it.

Thanks to Starry Relm and Sphere for the Sig and Avatar (in their respecive order)

What??? BANNING THE RIGHT OF A BUNCH OF SNOOTY SNOBISH MEN TO KILL HELPLESS ANIMALS WITH CRUELTY???

    Scandal!

    :rolleyes2

They could try to do the same thing over here with bull fighting, although in the case of Spain bull fighting has becomed a very representative cultural icon, and I must admit that even though I hate it. And it's not something new, a few days ago I was looking at a XVIII century novel written by a Spanish man, where he critizized it too, he basically thought people who enjoyed it were primitive idiots.

But well, even though I wouldn't care for it's banning, because I consider it a horrible atrocity, I realise it would be preety hard to end it, not only because it's the main icon of Spanish culture (heh, says much about us) but it also moves A LOT of money. For example, many famous bullfighters in Spain are as important as Hollywood stars are to USA, or in other words, it fills pages and pages of pink press, it's not strange to see a bullfighter in the cover of "Hello" magazine, or any similar crap (I think "Hello" makes a good example, since it's a magazine that comes out in almost all of Europe, buy you know the idea, basically magazines of celebrities selling their lifes and then complaining about lack of privacy).

So should we stop putting rat pellets down, or using insecticide etc? Personally I don't care about the fox, and I don't care about the hunt. It's funny really, the government have brought in this new rule that doesn't change a great deal but has the pro-ban people thinking they've won. It's quite clever really but it will all blow over soon and just as many foxes will get killed.
