You mean the punishment for using dogs to kill the fox. The dog is still allowed on the hunt.

Can that be paid in coppers and silver, or does it have to come in the form of a nice round pound coin?
Tear their faces off and open their torsos with a retractor, and then hang their carcass in the city walls to give example. And make sausages with their intestines.
See, hunting for me is to hang out near a game trail, usually in a high hide and wait for the animal i'm hunting to come by. saves energy, gets me the food for winter, keeps the population down so they don't overeat the availible resources, works pretty good. except that you use old clothes you don't mind getting dirty because you will get dirty. and you camoflage yourself as best as possible so the animal won't get suspicious.
Getting all dressed up in a bright red coat so the fox, your hunting partners, God and everybody can see you, riding around on a horse and blowing a horn while a pack and a half of dogs go chase down one animal is not only not hunting, it's silly.
Dogs would kill the fox anyways if the dogs weren't tied up. One dog by itself will be the nicest, sweetest, most gentle thing in the world. get 2 or 3 more together and set them loose, and they'll always find a chicken or a sheep to kill. Pack mentality. It's hardwired into them. can't be unprogrammed.

I think we should ban fishing. We spear fish through the face with a metal hook, forcibly drag them onto land, and just sit there and watch them suffocate. Why is the life of a fish worth so much less than the life of a fox? Animal life seems to be worth more to most people depending upon how furry and cute it is.
I think killing animals for fun isn't something I'd enjoy or even enjoy watching someone else do, but I don't think it should be illegal as a universal rule.
Well, it's normal to have stronger feelings towards something similar to you, and in this case foxes are mammals, and look similar to dogs and cats, wich are animals we owe as pets. And foxes are cute, that helps too.Originally Posted by Dr Unne
And what makes the life of a fox to appear more important than the life of a fish is exactly the same feeling that makes us feel the life of a human being worth more than that of a fox (Well, it depends on the human being, but I mean as general rule). Because I could not rationalize why a fox is considered more than a fish, but I could not rationalize either why a human being is more than a fish. I can only say I feel it that way, because I am human being- incurable illness- and obviously I feel more empathy towards that similar to me. But rationally, you can't really explain in some irrefutable and wonderful way why humans are worth more. You just take it as obvious. You can start saying "well, we are rational and thus understand death in a different way and suffer more", but still that dosen't seem a perfect argument: what we define as "alive" works in the same way in animals and in humans. Sure, humans used to be considered something something above animals- it's Christian tradition, God created man to rule over all the creatures of Earth- but really, Copernicus, Darwin and finally and most importantly, Sigmund Freud and Charcot, already prooved we are really not that special. So in the end, it's about our feelings.
Well, I think killing animals for fun is something sadistic. If you go hunting/fishing and then don't eat what you hunt, you are- in my opinion- quite an asshole.I think killing animals for fun isn't something I'd enjoy or even enjoy watching someone else do, but I don't think it should be illegal as a universal rule.
