G4 game channel going to pot

I've watched The G4 channel quite a bit and the whole thing is going downhill. It started well, but has been really gone downhill since the merger with tech TV. Originally the shows were good except Blister which was thankfully cut. Bill Sindelar and Tommy Tallirico are some of the most annoying hosts ever. The new techTV shows are alright (I'm partial to X-play). I'm sorry to see that portal ended, I enjoyed it a lot. What really gets annoying is the constant amount of corporate ads. An example would be on G4TV.com every episode they have the Juicy fruit TWISTED AND SWEET award :rolleyes3 Cheat tries to shoe horn pringles into everything! Does anyone else have similar feelings?

I have the EXACT same feelings. Bill Sindelar and Tommy Tallirico aren't gamers. They're (poor) actors, failing pathetically at trying to be gamers. X-Play really is the ONLY thing I watch on that network.

I was a big fan of TechTV (Even in the ZDTV days) before the merger. I had never even heard of G4. Still shaky on the details, but all the shows I watched on TechTV suck now and/or are never on. Yep, the only remaining thing they have on that channel is Last Exile and a few other animes. A shame, really.

G4TV has always sucked, and it just happened to suck even more after the merger. ZeZipster is right, and X-Play is the only worthwhile show on the network.

The problems I have with G4-TechTV:

Morgan Webb: You're not a true gamer. You're not fooling anyone.
Tommy Tallirico: I think the Penny-Arcade link I posted was inspired after you.
Commercials: They have like four to six commercials that try to trick you into thinking it is easy and affordable to get into a respectable college for game design that run every commercial break. "Can you beLIEve we get paid to play games?!" No.

In fact, the only good thing to come out of G4 is "Icons", and I am starting to get tired of the constant reruns.

What happened to the days when G4 featured old stuff, like when they had those old game shows where you got to play arcade games? That was cool.

G4: Channel of Cheese. Diane Mizota's fine, but that's the only reason for watching Filter. And I can get photos of her off the net so that defeats the purpose. I watch episodes of Judgement Day and Electric Playground every so often to get reviews on games, however I find Game Informer to be a much better source for game reviews. I like Cinematech to see how games look, and that's the one show on G4 that I can say that I truly enjoy watching.

I thought it was the best thing since the Matrix when It first appeared on my cable service back when it was fresh, but now, oh god it blows.

I can't bring myself to laugh at the numorous, pathetic attempts at humor. I can't laugh at all when I view some stupid commercial with some Webb fanboy or some host thinking that acting like someone who should be put in some straight jacket is actually <i>funny</i>. However, my eyes. Oh, how they roll. HOW THEY <I>ROLL</I>.

G4 ... funny station. Some of the shows aired are really insulting to one's intellegence. For example - shows like "arena" and "players" where we get to watch other people play videogames! Sounds great on paper right?! Who could have possibley thought so much would be lost in the translation?!

I agree somewhat. I Love x-play. Unscrewed was really good to that kinda mad me mad. I didnt have g4 before the merge so I guess I cant really complain. having it how it is now is better than not having it at all, right.
