Dark meat. Legs and thighs of chicken and turkey are dark meat, wings and breasts are white meat. White meat can also refer to pork or... anything else with white meat. I'm sorry this is going over your head, Jojo

Omg I've been eating dark meat... that sounds so... different. So is dark meat bad for you? Like, worse than white meat? Why are legs dark and wings white? >:O

Dark meat is fattier, I believe. And it's dark because IT'S DARK. Get a chicken and investigate. If you're asking WHY the legs are dark, I don't know. Might have something to do with them being less important muscles for a bird, but that wouldn't really hold true for a chicken.

Just to reply to my own thread: I prefer Red/Dark meat. I know it's not as healthy as white meat, but I'd rather have a hamburger or steak than disgusting chicken. I really cannot stand chicken.
