Calliope was born on an organic farm on the remote island of Vanuatu in 1984. When she reached the age of twelve she decided to make her way in the world, so she packed her canoe with her favorite piano and rowed her way across the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand. Upon arriving in Auckland she befriended a band of urchins who wore large jerseys as a uniform. The urchins informed her that her piano keys were made from ivory ripped from the tusks of walruses, at which point she set the instrument on fire and began spinning round and round, turning her view of the world into a Blur.
