Mine was 5 through my childhood, but I think the number 7 is slowly pipping it to the post. The reasons why are beyond me

Wow. The concept of numbers, as it pertains to sports, is a very frustrating thing. This post will probably last a long time, so be warned.

I have an obsession wtih numbers when it comes to sports. Every sport. For those of you who don't know American football, there is a very specific number system.

1-19: Kickers, Punters, Quarterbacks
20-49: Running Backs, Defensive Backs
50-59: Linebackers
60-79: Offensive Lineman
80-89: Wide Receivers, Tight Ends
90-99: Defensive Lineman

There are a few exceptions. But anyway, it makes me mad when people pick bad numbers. The following are GOOD numbers:

Quarterbacks: 3-13, 16
Running Backs: 20-24, 27, 28, 30-34
Wide Receivers: 80, 81, 87, 88
Tight Ends: 82-84, 89
Offensive Lineman: This doesn't really matter. :/
Defensive Lineman: Doesn't matter
Linebackers: 51, 54, 56
Defensive Backs; 20-24, 27-35

I don't like numbers in the 40s.

Now, when it comes to baseball....Any number between 1-34 is understandable for position players. Pitchers can go from 1-59. There are no exceptions. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Basketball is a bit more sketchy.

Point Guards: 1-13, 21, 31
Shooting Guards: 1-24
Small Forwards: 1-33
Power Forwards: 20-34
Centers: 20-40

It makes me mad when come people pick numbers like 46 and stuff. :/

Anyway, my favorite number is 6.
