Final Fantasy VII for the PC has always been a buggy one. Unfortunately, there isn't really a lot else I can suggest if you have all the latest drivers. Some graphics cards just don't support the game too well, I guess.
Someone else might be able to advise you otherwise, but I gave up with my copy.

uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?"
I'm sure its not my graphics card since it has never crashed before so im guessing its my soundcard since when it crashes the music makes a wierd noise

In that case, disable the music and see if that makes a difference.
Perhaps you could report back?

Hmm... try loading the configuration and running the video mode in software and the midi mode in general midi. I have a Geforce 3 ti500 and an Audigy 2 and the game seems to run fine using those basic settings.
maybe your video card is too good for that game. just like windows xp is too good for Red Alert but win 95 works wellOriginally Posted by BorIzEE27
Do you have the NVidia and WinXP patch's installed?
If not you can download them from the front site.

ok i've changed the MIDI mode and that seems to have reduced the crashing to rarely now. i'll see if i can stop it altoegther by messing around with the configuration.
