Default How are they going to/how did they emulate DS?

With the Dual Screen, I can assume it would be harder, especially since it has a touch screen, anybody have any enlightening posts to contribute?

Yeah, the touch screen is going to be a sticky wicket, as they say.

Wait about five to ten years, when such technology has been directly phased into computers as well?

Couldn't they maybe use the mouse for the touchscreen?

Nintendo are finally becoming smart, methinks.

Or perhaps not. After all, they did release the truly awful Mario 64 for the console.

Mario 64 DS isn't that bad, it's a good game to pass time, and the mini games can be pretty addictive.

It's not going to happen for while. Even when it does, the roms/isos will be too hard to get your grubby paws on. Just like Playstation/Dreamcast emulation.

They probably made the touch screen so it'd be pointless to try and emulate.

The developpment of DS emulators already started, and so far they can play some homebrew demos (simple effects mostly)/games (tetris) (which, considering that the DS was released only 3 months ago in the US isn't that bad). I'm pretty sure that in time, DS roms will be just as easy to get as gba roms, in fact, there is already one rom dump made.

Oh, also, playstation emulation works pretty damn well, the playstation 2 emulation is another matter. And both the psx ad dc isos, back when the consoles weren't completely outdone, were piss easy to find.

If you only knew how pointless DC emulation is when you don't even need am od chip to play DC games on a DC.

If only you knew that there was no one talking about DC emulation.

All they'd have to do is set the mouse clicking/dragging to be the touch input, won't be too long before emulators start popping up.

It probably wouldn't be that difficult to use a cheap USB graphics tablet for that purpose. If the mouse was the standard input for the 'touchscreen', I'd be able to set my tablet myself, to represent only that area.
