Regent Cid is human. Zidane is not, not only because of the tail, but the big mouth he has. So human is something like us.

Then only VIII and some of X and X-2 characters look like human.

What I was trying to say is that a character does not have to appear human to be human. That may not make much sense, but I believe that someone's humanity comes from within. The examples I gave were Nanaki and Freya. While not appearing human they were both autonomous, had a conscience and knew the difference between right and wrong. These are qualities I deem to be human. Now take the example of Kefka. He appeared human (to some extent), but did not have an ounce of humanity inside him. The same can be said for Kuja's Black Mages. I guess what I'm saying is to be human you need to have a soul, and a good one. Therefore I see almost everyone in FFIX, and others, as being human.

You say that Regent Cid is human even though we perceive him as an Oglop and a frog. Therefore humanity is something that comes from within.

I understand the logic you apply for what defines a human. (For example, Kefka's actions are refered to as inhuman.) It's really a good way to explain some of the characters in the Final Fantasy series.

A lot of FFIX's characters are a mix between a human, and some form of animal (FF in origin or not.)

I see Amarant as a demi-human. When I look at the skin colour and the hair I think of a Behemoth. (The one's from the series.) So as for what Amarant's 'animal' part is, I always kind of thought of him as an intelligent, bipedal Behemoth, without the horns.

Well, there's alot of creatures that are hot and still not humans. *points at sig* And they even exists in the real world as well. John Kerry for example. He's hot as hell but he's not human. He's a polar bear.

Steiner = Uhh, well I guess he looks human, probably just wears alot of make up
