The weapon that main characters...

In most of the ff the main charaters use a sword. Am i right or not so when i see a sword i think of FF.


What it the weapon that main characters use in the ff series? if u can help me, here please tell me.

FFIV-Sword
FFVII-Buster sword
FFVIII-Gunblade
FFIX-Daggers and double-swords
FFX-Sword

In the other ones the characters don't have any specific weapons.

Technically you could say Yuna uses a gun, since they push the gunner dressphere on her in all the scenes, and it's the only one that appears in an fmv. But yeah, she can switch it.

Final Fantasy: No main character
Final Fantasy II: Frioniel had a sword equipped from the start, but he could use any weapon in the game.
Final Fantasy III: Same as FFI
Final Fantasy IV: Yup, swords there
Final Fantasy V: Bartz's class could be anything, so he could really use any weapon.
Final Fantasy VI: Err.... No main character
Final Fantasy VII: Huge phallic symbol
Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus: Guns
Final Fantasy VII Before Crisis: Not sure, but it seems like either baton or gun, maybe both, I never played it
Final Fantasy VIII: Sword that may or may not have fired bullets
Final Fantasy IX: Knives, sucka!
Final Fantasy X: Smaller swords
Final Fantasy X-2: Yuna has no fixed class and can use any weapon
Final Fantasy XI: Your character is the main character in your game, and has no fixed class and can therefore use any weapon
Final Fantasy XII: Search me
Final Fantasy Tactics: Ramza starts with a sword but can use any weapon by changing classes
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: Marche is the same way
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest: Benjamin starts with a sword, but also uses axes, claws and bombs
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: No main character per-se

That makes 14 games with a main character, and of those games only 4 use swords exclusively. If we count the characters who start with a sword equipped, that makes 9, but meh.
