OMG dont you just hate those wanna-be's that try and act like mods and admins, moaning that your post is in the wrong flaming section. DO I CARE????
actually you can change them in battle. when in battle, hit the exit button and then hit start, select law cards and then you can toy with the laws. how you DIDN'T know that is beyond me.
Being wise comes in two parts: 1) having a lot to say and 2) not saying it.
Thanks to Starry Relm and Sphere for the Sig and Avatar (in their respecive order)
it's probably a used copy, and didn't come with the booklet. Or, because I haven't gotten that far, it might jsut be he didn't read the instructions ingame :P.
Oh and btw the laws change from day to day, each time you move a space a day passes. That could be why the laws are different when you enter a battle.
When checking laws outside of battle, hold the cursor over the area that the battle will take place in, if you can (Pale Company always takes place in Nargai Cave, so that shouldn't be a problem). The laws that are indented are the current laws, but the ones that are colored differently (they have a dark blue/red color [blue for what is Forbidden, red for what is Suggested] instead of a light blue/red color) are the laws that will be in effect if you take the fastest route available to that area. If you're not sure of which way that is (although it's really easy, just count the moves to get there and look for the shortest one), just hold it over that area and move. Your movement will automatically go by the same path the game uses when it tells you about the laws, so you have nothing to fear. As for law cards, to use them, select Law Cards from the in-battle menu (press B to exit the menu for a person's turn, and press start) and the laws will pop up again. Law Cards can only be used if there is at least one blank space on the list. Antilaw Cards nullify the laws in place, if you have a card that corresponds to the law s in use at the time. R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, and Allmighty are easily the most powerful Antilaw Cards, since the R# laws can nullify any law of that rank, and you don't need a specific antilaw for each law, and Allmighty (of which there are only three in the game, so don't bother looking for more) nullifies all laws in place, from R1 to R6. However, it can not nullify the rare R7 law (the only R7 law in the game) that shows up in specific missions (more bonus points to whoever says what this law is. It forbids something, and doesn't suggest anything, but that's all the hints I'm going to give you) even though it is a R7 Antilaw (also the only R7 Antilaw in the game).

aha! i get to correct Skyblade...this will be the best moment of my life! hehehe
there are 2 R7 laws in the game... Law Cards and NoClr Magic...Law cards prevents you from suing law cards (obviously) and NoClr Magic means you have to use Red, White, Black or Blue magic...
yay
You are correct. NoClr Magic is an R7 law. I hadn't bothered to check it (I did the last time I played the mission, which was before I read your post [though not before you posted it, so you still get the joy of correcting meOriginally Posted by yuripa
]) because it only shows up with the Law Cards law. Still, I apologize for my mistake.
NoClr Magic is actually a bit misleading, I think. If "NoClr Magic" is outlawed, then you shouldn't be able to use Time Magic and similar skills, which are magic, but not color magic, but you should still be able to use abilities like Battle Tech and Chivalry, since they aren't NoClr Magic, shouldn't you? Still, in that mission (the Mage Tourney mission, with the reward of the Sapere Aude or a powerup to it if you already have it) you are not allowed to use anything except Red, Blue, Black, and White Magic. Although there are ways around even sneaky laws like this... Doublecast is a Red Magic A-Ability, but it lets you cast Summon and Elemental magic twice, but since it's Red Magic, you won't get called on it! (Of course, this means that Doublecast is useless if Color Magic is outlawed, but still...)

Yay! I'm happy now!
Yeah Ive always thought that too, and also the description goes along the lines of "Penalty for using magic other than Black, White, Blue and Red." So that should mean that you can use other techniques.NoClr Magic is actually a bit misleading, I think. Exactly. That actually ended my game the first time I tried that mission, because I read the law and I was curious to see if other moves were accepted, even though it was a "Mage Tourney", and I killed three of them very quickly (Sonic Boom), but Marche got sent to prison.Originally Posted by yuripa
