I was thinking about saving up some money and getting some nice pens. Which would you recomend? Staedtler, Micron, Copic, or Koh-I-Noor?![]()
I personally don't like the Micron's though because their tips wear down easily.

well i wouldnt suggest buying anything expensive. i draw and ink professtionally with a mix of rollerball-gellpens, fineliners and a paintbrush and pot of india ink. The india ink is the most expensive at £3.00. All this nonsense about good pens and proffestional markers is simply a fad to get money out of people.
i do most of my artwork in woodless pencils. they're fragil, but they glide so nicely and the art is beautiful, plus, you can work your way down until the entire sharp end is flat and re sharpen then. i'm not much of a pen person, i even use bic gel pens if i do that.
Being wise comes in two parts: 1) having a lot to say and 2) not saying it.
Thanks to Starry Relm and Sphere for the Sig and Avatar (in their respecive order)
Ah...okay. Thank to both of you!
Btw, YukiKiro, I was staring at your sig for like a minute. Wow...thats neat...
I love the results of my Microns, but, they are the only kind I have used....
For mechanical pencils, choose Zebra
I am a collector.
I use whatever pens I have that roll nice ink.
If you have rather thick lines, just go for something that goes on smoothly (my friend has a pen I'd like to steal but I can't remember what it is) Usually I just use a pilot g-2 07.
I'd probably only get special pens if you need a REALLY fine point. like .01 mm or something.
(the best pen I ever used was one my dad found in the trash one day)
*completely unprofessional*
Pencils, I use Staedler's drafting pencils, the ones with the really thick lead... doesn't mean the lead is drawn out to be thick though.. it's hard to explain. It's quite unlike the average mechanical pencil.
For pens, I use either Copic or Japanese/Korean brand gel pens. Gelly Roll is a favorite of mine, it's pretty inexpensive where I get it -- 3.99 for a pack of 5.

also try to find craft catalouges like squires, they hold loads of stuff from drawing boards to pens youll never find in any stores
