I'm pretty sure everyone will have heard of this, but in case you haven't, this article from the BBC gives a pretty good rundown of what's going on.
This raises a whole minefield of ethical and political questions. So... is letting Terry Schiavo die the right thing to do? Was George Bush and Congress right to get involved? Are Bush's concerns genuine, or is this just a political charade? Will the American public respond positively or negatively to this unprecedented government imposition on the judicial system?
I won't comment too much to start, but my initial impression is that this is a political hot potato and a potential minefield for anyone who gets involved. Bush is either very brave or very stupid to get involved.
