Default Artist - "Song" or "Song" - Artist

I've noticed that some of you type the songs you're listening to as Artist - "Song" which I use myself, and while the rest of you do the opposite with "Song" - Artist.

Which is correct, or which way do you prefer?

    Artist - "Song"
    or
    "Song" - Artist

Edit: Anyway, I find it kind of annoying when I see others list the songs they listen to as "Song title" - Artist name.

I don't know, but I always find it easier to read as Artist - "Song"

But if anyone is going to name the song title first, might as well go "Song" by Artist instead of using the dash "-" to replace "by".

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

I do it both ways, but more of the time, I write the artist and then the song

I go "Artist - <i>song</i>" for organizational reasons - it's easier to sort in my Winamp playlists (all of the songs by the same group/artist get grouped together), and I've gotten into the habit of writing that way under all circumstances.

I don't remember ever writing the song first, and I only really noticed this method when I came here.

I use "Artist - Song" since that's how it shows up in Winamp.

I always state the singer's name first and then the song title.

    Artist - Song.

Tell who did it, then tell what they did.

There's more artists that do more than one song than songs that are done by more than one person.

(plus song - artist makes it friggin' hard to find other stuff by one person you enjoy listening to)

and you have to have the space hyphen space. for cleanliness

Song first, because not every song is good by one artist. And so the artist goes second. yeah...
