If that's what floats your boat, then by all means go for it. I don't see how this behavior is harming anyone, even if it is illegal. And, you did say it was in the middle of the night, so in all probability, no one will catch you anyway.

My only advice to you, should you decide to continue this, would be to watch out for dangerous men lurking about.
