Personally, if they do it right, cosplaying is wonderful. If they completely mess up on their costumes, it's not as pleasing. I've gone cosplaying before, I went as Gendou Ikari before, I couldn't get the right glasses, so it didn't look quite right. Another time I went cosplaying, I went as Xelloss from The Slayers, again, I didn't have everything I needed, but still went. I'm thinking of going to some of next years conventions, but I'm not sure who to cosplay as. I love it when the ladies cosplay, it looks cute and all.

A good Lulu cosplayer.
Anyways, I would put the image up, but a link will have to do until later on, and I'd put up more cosplayers, but for some reason, my internet is messing up.
I'm pretty heavy into cosplay myself (I'm going to A-Kon this year as Lucca from Chrono Trigger) and lemme tell you - the VERY VERY best cosplay (most of them by Yaya, who I've met and is a great person too) is the stuff that people make by themselves. Sometimes you can tell when people order the costume ready made for like $300, but it's REALLY insane when you see the people who studied the costume, created a pattern, bought the materials, put it together, attached all the accessories, most of them handmade, and did all the embroidery and stuff themselves. That, my friends, is why I love cosplay. There are people who make a living off selling their costumes and patterns.
Okay that Kimahri one is just scary.
