Troll?

I'm hoping that someone can help me out with this. What do people mean when they refer to someone as a "troll" on the internet?

Somebody who registers on a message board or internet group just to cause trouble.

Probably someone who just goes and writes stuff that have nothing to do with the subject...Or somebody bad

For example, that guy I just banned... FFISTEHSUX or whatever his name was. He was just posting in threads saying things like "OMG ur all ugly" just to get someone to fight with him. Like Joel said, someone who pops up just to start trouble.

If someone is banned there really is no point calling him a bastard. So yeah, try not to do that.
