    Default Al Bhed

Do any of you talk a little or alot of Al Bhed? If you do, how do you speak it? Do you say it clearly or slurred. Do you use English phonetics or foreign ones? Do you have special ways to say the vowels (including 'y')?

    Here are my personal rules:

Spoken sharp, fast, and at normal volume.

    Vowel Pronunciation
    +-+-+-+-+-
    1. 'A' = ä

    2. 'E' = ë or â (which ever flows better)

    3. 'I' = ê

    4. 'O' = ô

    5. 'U' = û

    6. 'Y' - multiple rules
    ~1. y = ê
    ~2. y___ = ê
    ~3. __y_ = ï or ê
    ~4. __yh = silent
    ~5. yh__ = ï
    ~6. hy__ = hï

    7. Vowel-H -- Short Vowel

    8. Vowel-H-Vowel -- Vowel sound, H sound, Vowel Sound

    9.Double/Triple/Quadruple/Quintuple.. Vowels
    Vowels are slurred:

    Examples:
    Memories / Sasuneac - Sah-SOO'naek
    Owies / Ufeac - OO-faek
    +-+-+-+-+-
    Consanant Rules
    +-+-+-+-+-
    1. Double/Triple/Quadruple/Quintuple... Consanants

    Consanants are slurred:
    Examples:
    School / Clruum - Kl~oom'
    Anthropomorphic / Yhdrnubusunbrel - Ihderr'noo'boo'soon'BRAEL
(I know that is a weird word but it gets to point across)
    +-+-+-+-+-
    Nouns
    +-+-+-+-+-
    1. Regular nouns are translated
    Example: cookie / luugea - loo'GA'uh

    2. Proper nouns are not translated
Example: Sin / Sin - Sihn'

    3. Specific nouns are not translated but pronounced in the dialect.
    Example: Fiend / Fiend -Fyaend'
    Algebra / Algebra - Al'ge'BRUH
I want to see your rules too!:twocents:

Al Bhed is as much a real language as Klingon or Elvan (sp? for both) are real languages.

Klingon ec cbammat nekrd, pid Elvan ec cbammat Elven.
(Klingon is spelled right, but Elvan is spelled Elven.)

No, I'd rather fill my memory up with something I can use in the real world. No offence to people who spent the time to remember the 'language'.

I suppose her father must have had blue eyes.... Therefore, one was blue, one was green (because her mother was Al Bhed, obviously).

This is probably one of the few things that bugs me. I do not like it when Americans claim to speak English. They do not speak English, they speak American, an entirely different language altogether. How can it be the same language when different words/spellings are used? Even the grammatical system has changed. No flame intended.

As for Yuna's eyes, I put it down to her split heritage (Al Bhed/normal Spiran). However, I know someone with one blue eye and one green eye, but both her parents have brown eyes. The wonders of genetics never cease to amaze me.

What would be really odd is if she had one blue eye and one green eye with a spiraled pupil.

Yeah, I basically just try to sound as German as possible when I speak.

Okay, I don't suppose any of you are going to A-Kon this year in Dallas are you? I really hope so, because I go every year and I have yet to find people there that I actually enjoy chilling with, and I think it would be cool if any Al Bhed speakers would go so we could meet up and, like, speak Al Bhed.
