Thread: Leveling Up

    Default Leveling Up

What's the best place for it?
Is there some place with über enemies like the Islands Closes to Hell/Heaven in FFVIII?
The best I've found so far is the Mideel area, with 1950-2600 EXP per battle. It's just not enough. Besides, I'd like to level them up on Disc One.

I'd say you found it... That's my level up spot, right on the beach with the worms.

Worms and more worms... all day...

Oh? I prefer the insect-looking thingies in the forests, 'cause when they appear in groups of four.... it's 2600 EXP

True, but I like the worms because it's pretty much the only thing on the beach... you get them so often, it's rediculous. Plus they're really weak against Ice and use a lot of Earth attacks. (Elemental materia and items help with that.)

Man, I wish I had Windows XP so I can play my PC version...

Where would the best place to level up level 81 characters be? Northern crater?

I've found that the secret little forest area with the frogs mini game gives about 3000xp... but thats quickly turning into hardly anything.

yah, Northern Crater or the Gelnika...

Master Tonberrys give 6000, but they're freakin' scary.

In the early parts, the sleeping forests works well for me, later it's either the gelnika or the northern crater (magic urns).

The second-best place to level up is the Mideel forest.

The best place to level up is deep in the North Crater where you fight Magic Pots. You'd need lots and lots of elixirs for this method, and if you don't have or are not willing to use the W-Item glitch, this method is not advised. Also, an Enemy Lure materia helps A LOT.

EDIT: the bouncing balls in the Crater are also great, but they're rare. Even with an Enemy Lure materia, at most one in ten battles were with the bouncing red ball-things. Pretty inefficient. Unless you do Magic Pots as well, the Mideel Forest is better.

But Magic Pots are worthless without elixirs, and you need W-Item for an infinite supply of those.

And I never got the bouncing balls more than a few times a trip. And I always had an Enemy Lure materia equipped.

Hmm...you probably didn't have an Enemy Lure materia equipped. I noticed that when I didn't have one equipped, the Magic Pots became much rarer encounters.
