its not too hard really. i understand the basics so its GOTTA be easy!

theres three 'main' parties, the ones with powe
    the conservatives (tories)
    New Labour
    Liberal Demicrates (sp?) (Lib Dems)
each one stands for pretty much the same thing but say that they're each different.
they're all run by old fat men and they fall asleep in the house of commons.
then theres the smaller parties, the ones I'M going to vote for!
they don't really have the same amount of power buit they are cool!
I don't know all of them...
    The Green party (very good!)
The Loony party (run by a dog.....seriously!)
    UK independant party....i think
then some others that i don't pay any attention to!

erm....they all shout at eachother and drink tea...

    thats it!
Britain needs to stop immigrants sneaking in and do more things about urban places
you'd better get rid of me.
my dads parents snook in from Ireland
my mums from Germany and Russia.

For the last time, I'm not getting rid of refugees. They have as much right to live in the UK as we have. So what if they're not born here? They need to shelter from the violence of their own country, so it's our duty to take them in. Besides, they take the jobs we don't want, and saying you want to get rid of them is insane! Britain is a multi-cultural society. That's what's so good about it! Anyway, my party will be better than any of the other old farts'. How many young politicians do you see on the news? None. And my party'll be cheerful and peaceful and nice and above all else, R A N D O M. Like me!

Wow thats cool, I have Irish decendants too!

I'm voting New Labour, I always say its better the devil you know. Blair seems to have taken a moderate stand against Bush as of late though. But still America wise at their next election I hope Hillary Clinton runs for the democrats.

In a literial and political sense, no they don't.

Britain is far from multicultural and the fact that multiculturalism is a good thing is debatable.

I don't mind Britain taking in legitimate refugees, but I do have problems with us taking in refugees that have travelled through 5 or so safe European countries to claim asylum here. And haha, how many immigrants to Britain do you think are actual refugees, or just economic migrants wanting to abuse our health service? And I don't think the multi-cultural thing is a good thing either, it just leads to anyone mentioning the original culture being branded as racist or unpolitically correct. Have you ever noticed how every TV show has black/asian characters or presenters? It's totally unproportionate as those minorities make up 5% of the total population, but to say "Hang on a minute, this is reverse racism" is branded racist.

Haha, you should have been here for the EoFF elections last month. I made a very random party.

But seriously, you have to pay quite a considerable fee to stand for Parliament, and it'll be money wasted. You won't get anymore than 500 votes in any given constituency, and considering that the constituencies are 70,000 people in size, I don't think 500 will be enough to get in.

Meh. It's always worth trying. Anyways, by refugee, I mean actual victims of war. And multi-culturalism is a good thing, because if we didin't have a mixed racial community, we'd be branded as racists...I think I got that wrong somewhere...If the Tories get into power, how many people are gonna be shipped out of Britain because they don't have a British nationality? I will end up separated from my family, because I wasn't born in Britain. Most of my friends will be deported because they're not totally British. Is it just me, or have the Conservatives become more and more weird?

I always try to reason with people, but sometimes you just have to reason with yourself instead, and ignore the people around you. Wow. I believe I may have just said something noble. *Enshrines this thread* It is now holy.

If I were to vote, I would be quite torn. A tactical vote would be to vote for Labour. They're not as good as they used to be, but let's face it, anything's better that the Conservatives.

The Lib Dems would be my first choice, but I'd be afraid they'd split the non-die-hard-Tory vote right down the middle and the Tories would sneak in.

But I'm not British so it doesn't really matter anyway.

I'd like my parents to vote Lib Dem, but they're die-hard New Labour fans, even though they think Tony Blair's an arse. I would hate for the Conservatives to get into power, 'cos it would mean I would have to leave the country, as I no longer have a British nationality, even though both my parents are Scottish.

I was born in Sweden, and when I'm 18, I will lose my British nationality unless I marry a British person, which frankly, ain't gonna happen. It's really confusing, and I don't understand it. I'll ask my parents, and then I'll post up what they said.
