    Default Internet troubles

I hooked up my own computer to the Internet here at my house a few days ago with no problem, just taking the cable out of my sister's computer and putting it in mine. The problem now, though, is that my sister's computer doesn't recognize that the cable is plugged back in when I do so.

It gives me that whole "A network cable is unplugged" thing, even though it's plugged in and all. What gives?

Tried rebooting her machine with the cable both connected or disconnected then plugging it in? Maybe try disabling the Internet Connection Firewall as well if it's WinXP SP2, since I've heard that can do dodgy things like that

Hmm... no dice, unfortunately. Any other ideas?

We can assume the network port on the switch/hub and the cable are fine if you did a very basic swap, so check the network card port on the PC isn't damaged.
