I definitely agree with this.

"Media" is such a broad term, it's hard for me to answer this question. I'm guessing we're talking mostly about news here. I don't think News is driven entirely by ratings. Sensationalism sells, sure, and I know that virtually every news source has some sort of bias, but I don't think the media is driven soley by ratings and money.

I still trust the Media to seek the truth and report it. There are still news sources out that that I trust to be objective. CNN, Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times are a few.

Getting rid of Fox News would be silly. Fox is just presenting the news as they see it, with a huge right wing slant, just like the LA Times reports news with a heavy left wing slant.

I disagree that we're not getting enough perspective from the Media. With the Internet, people can be exposed to thousands of different perspectives that wasn't possible before with newspapers or Television.

The media always reflects society. The Media never says anything that people in the general public aren't thinking themselves. That being said, maybe people in the general public are idiots who are greedy for money. Just like people in the Media.

Also, Clear Channel is evil.
