Okay this always bugged the hell out of me too. Its not just Gippal he shoots, he shoots Baralai straight in the back aswell! How the hell are they alive! He also presumably shoots Paine at near point-blank range aswell! Strictly speaking they should all be dead dead DEAD. But then there'd be no subplot so, meh
