Victims rights? Please! Explain to me what the "Victims rights" are?

Victims' Rights
A victim has the right to the protection of law in accordance with the Constitution. This includes the right to life and security of the person and to have access to the Courts in order to obtain remedies where there are violations of these rights.

For this propose a victim of criminal wrong is entitled to obtain the assistance of the police by the investigating of his complaint and the apprehension of the offender.

A victim may bring a civil action against the wrongdoer to recover compensation for injuries, losses and mental suffering. However, in many cases of assaults, a certificate of conviction is a bar to further proceedings both civil and criminal, if the fine imposed has been paid, but the criminal court may award costs to the complainant for expenses incurred in the prosecution.

Where the wrongdoer is a public officer and abuses his authority, the victim may sue the wrongdoer as well as the Attorney General and recover exemplary, in addition to ordinary and aggravated, damages.

A victim whose house, shop or other building has been demolished or pulled down by rioters is entitled to be compensated.

A victim of criminal act that causes injuries is entitled to seek medical attention at a public hospital or clinic.

Ok so it's for jamaica, but it's a good representation of the legal rights that victims have.
