No, it doesn't give you any percentage points.

It's Rikku's last tower, where you have to press two buttons at once.
I struggled on that one too. It took me over 30 goes to do it.
I don't know if this will work with you, but, whenever I do something, I either do it when I'm tired (don't know why, it just helps) or do it as soon as you wake up in the morning!
I already tried both. No good.
But, since it doesn't involve % I'm not gonna bother.
BTW, I'm on a new game plus at 99% and just about to infiltrate Bevelle in Chapter 2. I went Youth first Game and New Yevon this game. Where is enough % to get 100? ( I still need to get the Chocobo secret dungeon)
I never went to the Chocobo Dungeon, the best place to get percentage points would probably be in Chapter 5, if you get to the Farplane abyss and then board the Airship, hopefully Buddy and Brother wont be there (they will be on the deck), then go to the Cabin, then go to the deck again.
Hee hee. Don't know how, but I got 100% before the end of Chapter 4! YAY!

Likely because choosing to give the Awesome Sphere from Kilika to the opposing Faction on a New Game+ allows for a potential 5% extra Percentage Points to be accumulated by the end of the second go-through of the game. so i don't have to go the pain of calibrating the towers just to get 100%? then what do u get when u do all that calibrating thingie??

It gives you better items in Chapter 5 when you have to defend them.
