I tried to beat Ruby without Materia... I got so close and then... It killed me. And I almost cried. But I guess it wasn't that bad...

Did you count your hits? Don't forget that Ruby have about 1,000,000 HP. Because of her extreme defense, you'll have to hit her a hella load of times. Don't cry. You should laugh instead, like I did when I got game over after 1-2 hours of fighting! Seriously... one time i just couldn't stop laughing.

Anyone know if their is a way to nullify ruby`s defence and do more damage because the most damage i can do (and this is with hero drinks) is around 800 and thats wit cloud aswell. (thats 800 per hit by the way)

Now Ruby, on the other hand, takes 57904750423 times and long as is HARD without materia.

Put Cait Sith in your party. Get his Slot limit break all ready to use, then save your game right before you fight him. Fight him and fire off that Limit Break, try and time it so it gets all 3 slots showing Sith's face. When they do they die immediatly. If you fail just try again. I defeated Emeral Weapon like that in three tries.

The funniest way to beat them is without materia!

you beat them without materia and it took more then 20 minutes.... ya damn lia, there is a time limit of 20 mins (which is easyly doable with materia) unless you have the underwater materia which means you didnt kill him without materia oh and btw the easyest way to kill emmy is to have KotR+HP Absorb Mime+MP Absorb Final Attack+Revive = invincible Cloud have the others equiped with Mime and Final Attack+Revive that way it is imposible to loose

I've been saying the same thing for years now(since I first did it), and no one ever thought of that, KD. Yes, I did have the Underwater materia equipped.

I actually have a system for it. Needs only one character equiped with KOTR, some really good defensive magic, alot of elixers, a Mime Materia, and karma. Simply have that one character cast KOTR, then use an elixer on him, repeat a total of ten times and Ruby should die.

heres a good strategy to fight ruby...have magic counter equipped with full-cure..and have a very extensive collection of elixirs....and obviously pheonix with final attack....this pretty much makes you invincible.....just make sure to take out the tentacles before they suck your mp away.....omnislash does the trick here.....then just plough ruby away with your KOTR.....peice o cake....

oo make sure 2 of your people are dead when you go into battle....or hell more than likely suck away the good one....

I defeated them both but id say the easiest way to beat ruby weapon is to use knights of the round with w-summon 4 times.
