Most overated/underated games

Another game I would add to the overrated list is Mario Sunshine. That game is so horrible.

Exactly. That game went so long without anybody picking it up, and now the're making a semi-sequal to it because it gained popularity as it aged.

Some other underrated games of mine:

Castlevania SOTN (best 2-D action side-scroller ever!! the soundtrack rocks!!)
Beyond Good & Evil (why did nobody buy this!!!!!)
Final Fantasy 9 (one of the best in the series, but the least mentioned. )
EarthBound (one of the most original rpg's ever)
MegaMan X (awesome side scroller.)
Chrono Cross (good after you get into it)
Illusion of Gaia (great for its time)
Vagrant Story (beautiful work of art)

As for most overated, my following are shown below:

Halo, Halo 2 (good, but not THAT good)
Prince of Persia (just my personal opinion)
Doom 3 (Although beautiful, nothing new)
FF Series (it didn't used to be, but now it is.)
Resident Evil 1-3 (4 really is great though)
Splinter Cell (cleraly influenced by MGS)
Mortal Kombat (how much longer can this series last?)

And as for FF7, it definetly was hiped up and overrated, but it is still one of the best games ever made.

No joke. I think the people who look down on it really haven't seen how much depth there is, especially in San Adreas.

Overrated: Halo. The fanboys just won't shut the hell up about it, either.
Underrated: Zelda: Wind Waker, though most of the bashing aimed at it come from its graphics.

Overrated: MMORPG games.
Underrated: FFX-2. Most people look down their noses at it as they didn't like FFX and they think it's just "Hey let's show off some cleavage to sell a game!" but it's actually not a bad FF.
