More or less, is Sephiroth at all in FF7 AC, or is he merely a memory? Because it seems as if he is still part of the story. I'm just kind of confused about that.

That's currently unknown. (SPOILER)Personally, I don't think Sephiroth himself will have any role in the film and that the form of him seen in the previews attacking Cloud in Midgar is simply JENOVA's head in Sephiroth's form, the same as parts of JENOVA took on his form in the game.

No one knows for sure, except Tetsuya Numora(sp?) and company! Although it hink the Sephiroth we see is just a mere memory! Just like when you see Aeris, that is just a memory! But why is there flash backs, is Cloud just thinking about them, or is someone, something controlling his thoughts!?
This is just a theory, now if it were real, who is provoking them, Sephiroth? Aeris/Aerith? Jenova?
Although we see Yazoo or one of them talking to a man in white robes? Is this Sephiroth? We don't know, it could be! I hope it is!
We will just have to wait until it comes out this year!(I think, could be next year)!

I dont think it is Sephiroth, it makes no sense.
Instead I think (SPOILER)it is one of the Sephiroth clones that Hojo says he created (like cloud)

(SPOILER)cloud is not a clone of sephiroth as is proven in ff7 but cloud dose have jenova cells in him
