    Default REAL Great Rock Songs

Inspired by the dismal Kerrang Top 100 list. I here ask you of EoFf to pick some great Rock Songs. All I say is that all can be debated and not too many by the same band. Here's just a taster...

The Smashing Pumpkins- The Everlasting Gaze
    The Smashing Pumpkins- Zero
    Metallica- Enter Sandman
    Pixies- Monkey Gone To Heaven
    Ash- Burn Baby Burn

As I peruse through this list, I don't see anything that would constitue a rock song in general except for what is on Dr.K's list. Pretty much everything else is pop. I don't mean pop as in boyband, I say pop and mean it's not rock, it's sell out music, and doesn't really hold any purpose in the music except for the artist to get money.

And besides, most of it is metal that has started to suck over the years. I am referring to Metalica and NIN for that matter. It's all starting to mellow out and turn into what the people want to hear, not what they originally did.

Speaking of Allman Brothers, I'm seeing Derek Trucks in concert on Thursday... how cool is that?

Very nice indeed! I saw Warren Hayes a while ago, though he's a more recent member of the band.

    Take care all.

Yeah, I saw him in February when he was touring with Gov't Mule. I'm starting to like the fact that I live in Charlottesville: We get Warren and Derek within two months of each other.
