Surprisingly, I am somewhat non-Christian, but reading this (Especially since he is so close to death) my eyes watered. The pope is symbolic of the Church, and even though I never payed much attention to the Catholic Church affairs, and follow other beliefs, like most I respect him. In death he will find peace with his God.
As others mentioned before, a life is a life, and it is sad to see someone leave this world, and once again I give my sinceress wishes and best of luck. Though it is dismal, and his death is eminant, he has lived a long life, and now will find peace.
He was a great man, and I held high respect for him. It is sad, but he will finally have true peace.
I really don't care so much about it, because well, it's something that had to come sooner or later, he has lived long enough, so it really dosen't make much sense to be sorry to see him go, it's just natural thing, you know. I do like some of his ideas, although I really do not share his view of the world. Oh, well, I'm more concerned about who the new Pope will be, that is what really matters to me...I'd like it to be a Pope with different views, you know, a little less repressive on sexual matters.
fare well to one of the most accomplished popes ever. its going to be hard for the next pope to follow him up.

The Pope was a great man. My Mom told me that she saw him in 1985 and she almost fainted when she saw him because it feels so surreal when he's near you. Nobody will be able to replace him.![]()
How ironic. My freind said that to his mom this morning as an april fools
i wonder if he'll be named a saint or another high honour for someone like him
Pope John Paul II is unique like everyone he may have had different oppinions to some of us but he was strong with his beliefs and his oppinions but accepted the oppinions of others whilst knowing the ups and downs
LET THE HAMMER FALL
The fact that he is not going to be here for very much longer is saddening. He did so much for this world. I hate to see him go.
The good old man will be at rest. It's sad, but it comforts me to know that soon he will be hanging out with his old pal Colonel Sanders in heaven.![]()
This isn't a disrespectful question, but...has the Pope officially died yet? I have no idea what's going on anymore.
As of the announcement the Vatican did before lunch, he is in a near critical state, losing counsciousness like one would nod off when falling asleep and then wake up. He was going in and out of comatose basically. I suppose we'll have a few more details tonight with the next announcement.
And then there is Death
