If his name is not immeadetly familiar to you, your not a North Carolinian.Eric bombed an abortion clinic and the Olympics at Atlanta some killing people.After hiding out in the woods of N.C for (I lost count like 5 years). He's been caught. I happened a few weeks ago, but what I can't figure out is this...it's been barely covered! I mean far be it from me to make light of Scott Peterson but he only killed two people. Eric killed way more but he's only got a little press.,,,,,,How come?

The press covers what it is they think people want to hear, and obviously people are more interested in something that contains sordid affairs than they are in something like this. Rudolph's done a great deal of damage (and I have heard of him, by the way), and has also been sufficiently covered in the press. I'd actually prefer it not grace the tabloids (as did the Scott Peterson case), I think that actually cheapens the case overall.
I remember hearing about how the caught him. Of course, I live in Atlanta so it makes sense the news would cover it here. I had a couple friends who were working at Centennial Olympic Park and had just left when the bombing occurred there. It's good they finally caught that psychopath. I wonder if anyone sent Richard Jewel a fruit basket.

As I used to live in Georgia, I remember well the Olympic Park bombing. However, I also believe that they're trying to pin that one on him because they don't have any other leads. The abortion clinic bombings, he was actually a suspect in, but the Olympic Park bombing, they just added that to his list because it was a somewhat similar case. And since all the charges are being brought on him at once, he can't plead differently to just that one. Bombing abortion clinics is understandable--not right, of course, but if he's that convicted in his beliefs against abortion, he has a motive. Why would he put one out in Centennial Olympic Park?
I don't quite understand how you leap from "abortion is murder, which is wrong" to "i want to murder people who commit abortions". Well, I do understand that it is sociopathic, but still.
As I understand it, he made a plea bargain. He's admitted to the four bombings and led the police to a cache of explosives in return for four life sentences instead of the death penalty.

Rudolph has gotten little national press, but you'd better believe all of Western North Carolina is in a tizzy about this. I hear his name mentioned on popular raido at least once a week, and that isn't even during the normal news segments.
The media just like that. America as a whole has gotten over what happened back then, and the media changes it's focus when the American public does.
