I agree. Each person is different and some might actually look good with a beard, but in my opinion, beardless is better.

I like my beard, but I shaved it down to a goatee. I think it looks better like that.

It all depends on the person. Many girls I talk to seem to prefer clean-shaven guys in general, though they all admit that it's subjective.

I suppose it has to do with your facial features, and what sort of facial hair style (i.e. shaven, beard, goatee, etc.) complements your specific features.

Too right. When I grew a goatee, at first people said it looked cool. 'Result', I thought. However, as time reared it's ugly head...

a.) My barber said I looked like a terrorist
b.) My sister sarcastically concluded "just because it looks cool on rock stars, It doesn't look cool on you"
c.) I was referred by one specimen as 'the viking' who possessed 'the great beard of power'.

Despite these compliments, coupled with the fact that the actual hair on the goatee was a mixture of ginger and brown (what a mutant I am), I eventually decided to shamefully shave it off...and am now ruddy well glad I did so.
By the way - don't grow a beard.

I had a similar something happen to me when I decided to cut off all of my hair. When I went to school the next day, people looked at me like 99.9% of the the guys in school didn't have short hair.

They were all like, "Wow, you cut your hair."
And I was all like, "Wow, shut up."

Only I'm not really that mean. I was just thinking it.
