getting the NES emulator to work?

I just d/l'ed the Nesticle emulator so I can take a crack at some of the old FF's. I run the exe and the screen goes black but nothing happens. I'm running Windows xp professional without sp2. What do I have to change to make this work?

JNES is better, in my opinion.

I like Jnes, as well. It's run in Windows rather than DOS. I have no idea how to fix your problem, though. Sorry .

VirtuaNES works very well also. Sorry... I don't have a link. Just search for it.
