I'm thoroughly confused. I have an Image that is 100x100 pixels and its file size is 68 KB. I have another image thats 300x430 pixels and is 24KB. The one thats 68 consists of only 4 colors and the 24KB image is over 40 colors. Both are in .jpg format... why?

What app did you use to save the images?
I've no idea why the filesizes are so big, but if you upload them, I'd be glad to resave them.
I dont care about the one thats big, i need the 100x100 to be 29KB or less

It might be to do with the amount of layers you used to create the image, although Im not entirely sure. When saving with photoshop, you can lower the quality to decrease the file size.
Also, when creating an avatar, your better off saving it as a gif! As they are very small files

its all one layer, I used a lot of layers to make it but I flattened them into one at the end thinking it'd make the image smaller in file size.
Gif = 72KB
Jpg = 68KB

When zooming in you'll find that there's a few more than four colors, but it's still not too much for a GIF. I tried saving it as a JPG in Photoshop with a quality of 12 (the highest) and the expected filesize was still only about 10k. Ah, well, whatyagonnado.

Well i only used 4 to make it. Green, Orange Black and White. Maybe because I made it on a larger scale and reduced the Image size... Dunno.. but thanks! I'll host it from my photobucket if you want.. thank you!

What exactly do you want to do with it? Would you rather someone put the head on a transparent background or do you want someone to attach the psd file?
