Actually, I don't think The Godfather is next-gen.
I thought Chaos Theory was a little too good in the graphics department. I thought I was staring at plastic dolls sometimes.
I think that a game that looks gorgeous is Phantasy Star Universe. It's not out yet, but judging by the screens, it's going to look amazing.

I was thinking along the lines of the whole 'II' numbers thing. Like how Final Fantasy does. It's hard to explain what I mean, but I thought that in Japan Nocturne had 'III' tacked onto the title in some way. Maybe I'm just reading the wrong thing, but every Japanese site I visit, there seems to be 'III' on the Nocturne's title in some way.

Yeah, I checked Atlus's site and it turns out it is Shin Megami Tensei III. Every single one of my sources were indicating otherwise, though. Weird. And considering all the spin-offs, like If..., Devil Summoner, Card Summoner, NINE, and Devil Children, I was willing to accept at face value that Nocturne was one, too.
half life 2 by far, absolutely amazing.
ico looked very impressive and so does it's sequel but noone actually realises that it's quite low-res. but somehow manages to pull of being one of the most beautiful games ever made.
zoe 2 was very stylized and excellent.
doom 3 graphics were good as they used bump mapping but that's all that i saw that was new there.
godfather is not next-gen
