Dragon Warrior VII feels like a poor stepsister to the Final Fantasy series. It has the job system like Tactics, but not as well done. It has the 3-D dungeons, like Xenogears, but again not as well done.
It is very addictive nonetheless. I've got one game where I logged 200+ hours (mostly leveling up) and I still haven't gotten everything!
I'm starting a new one though because I figure it's easier to start a second game to trade citizens from Sim's city rather than try recruit all the right types within a single save.
