Default Instrumental music

For all of those who love instrumental music, what are your favorites?

I personally like Mike Oldfield' Tubular Bells.

Godspeed You!, Black Emperor has some really great stuff, and DJ Shadow's about the best electronica I've ever heard.

Short version:

Air - Moon Safari - 01 - La femme d'argent
Air - Moon Safari - 08 - Ce matin-là
Air - Moon Safari - 10 - Le voyage de Penelope
J Ralph - Music to Mauzner By - 01 - One Million Miles Away
J Ralph - Music to Mauzner By - 07 - The Desert Suit Conspiracy
J Ralph - Music to Mauzner By - 11 - Goonies
J Ralph - Music to Mauzner By - 14 - Untitled 17
Robert Randolph - Unclassified - 05 - Squeeze
Robert Randolph - Unclassified - 09 - Calypso

Descriptive version:

Air - Moon Safari has some really good instrumental electronic tracks. I'd recommend track 01, "La femme d'argent", track 08 "Ce matin-là", and track 10, "Le voyage de Penelope".

J Ralph - Music to Mauzner By (www.jralph.com) has some rocking instrumental tracks. Track 01 - "One Million Miles Away" is cool new age and was in a popular VW commercial, Track 07 - "The Desert Suit Conspiracy" is a cool spy tune, Track 11 - "Goonies" is a quirky jazz-lounge piece, and Track 14 - "Untitled 17" is a really beautiful orchestral piece.

Robert Randolph - Unclassified (www.robertrandolph.net) has two really amazing instrumental pieces. Track 05 - "Squeeze" is really upbeat, warm, and happy. Track 09 - "Calypso" has an amazing groove to its beat, and reeks of coolness.

There are tons more in my collection, but these are the ones I could think off the top of my head. And no one likes to read long posts anyawys, so here.

There are a lot of instrumental pieces I listen to. A personal favorite is Camel's Music Inspired By The Snow Goose. The entire album is instrumental and a joy to listen to.

I Like Mercury's electronica (Check out his Perception album)
And I like The Smashing Pumpkin's piano led instrumentals.

Bach, Beethoven, Mozart... etc. etc. etc.

Edit: Also, the Flecktones embody that which is awesome.

Even though I do like post rock such as GY!BE,
my favourite instrumentals are generally made by non-instrumental bands.
The band OOMPH! has always been able to create really good and original instrumentals.

Robert Miles and Vanessa Mae are awesome. Dreams is my favorite by Robert Miles and Storm is my favorite by Vanessa Mae, and the coolest damn violin work I've ever witnessed. :<3:
I like Kung-Fu.

Default Hooray for instruments

I like big band music and jazz... like the Bob Moyer Big Band.... and game music (of course) and Apocalyptica.

Air, class french band.
Enya, could her music be any more beautiful?
Black Mages, can't get enough of them...trying to learn their songs on guitar, not easy I'll tell ya.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion,
I watched seabeams glittering at Tanhauser Gate.
All these moments will be lost, like tears in rain.
Time to die.
