I dont know about you guys but I really wished they kept it this way. This would have been so awesome. Why? Why did they change it. This could have easily been one of the best survival horror games ever. But no we got an action game instead.

It's called change and progression, it happens, you get over it.

We all live happily ever after.

I like RE4, the lack of zombies is a nice change, and the fact that I can control my character rather than the game hating me and changing camera angles and controls every time I try to turn a corner.

RE4 turned out to be one of the best games this generation, so no, I wouldn't have wanted it different.

Yeah but change isnt always a good thing. Now I like RE4 but I really wished they would keep the sense of survival horror in it. If I wanted to get a sniper rifle, sub machine gun, rocket launcher 5 minutes into a game, I would play GTA. I mean all RE4 is run, shoot 20 of those monsters (i forgot their name), pick up gold coins, run, shoot........

Did you guys even watch the clips? There were no zombies. They had monster like in this one but it had more of a fear to it.

There is still the sense of survival horror. It's just in a different perspective. I prefer RE4 the way it is, because you can't really see what's behind Leon, besides knowing Ashley is behind you. And usually, when one of guys attack from behind, it's almost unexpected.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

I like RE4 as it is now.
But keeping at least some of its survival horror theme would of been nice

RE4 is great the way it is. I am glad they didn't reuse the same damn plot.

I like it too. And as for the older version. They werent using the same old plot. As you can see from the videos they were goin in a whole new direction. The monsters looked so awesome and it had a great sense of horror to it. Those videos reminded me of Silent Hill but with a little more action. Basically the "older" RE4 was like the "newer" one except that it had a darker feeling to it.

RE4 is infinitely better the way it is now than the way it was in those previews. I thought the new angle only added to the survival horror feel because it's more like it's your eyes seeing things than seeing things in a third person.

The game went through three or four very different versions before they settled on the final setting. It's actually similar to RE2's case, where Capcom had the game about 60% finished and then prettymuch started over. Good stuff.
