Actually, I quite like that. However, the major problem I notice is that the text and accompanying bar intrude overly on a couple of the pics - most notably on the second row, second from left, and in the third row it's very intrusive on the player's hats.
However, if you refine that, it could end up being a pretty neat sig.
It might also benefit from a slight trim, if you removed three players and reduced it to four columns. Though I suspect every players there is there for a reason, so hey, go with what works for you.
