    Best looking games ever

Doesn't have to be based on just the quality of graphics, but mainly I'm thinking in terms of style of graphics, effects, overall look. So it could even be something a bit dated.

For me, LoZ: Wind Waker. It's beautiful and I really wish more games looked like this. People always seem to be wanting games to look more like reality, but what are games for, getting away from reality! I'd rather feel like I'm playing in some sort of amazing animated film or cartoon than in the real world, just because the graphics look so realistic.

    You go.

The Wind Waker is an awesome looking game, as is the upcoming cel-shaded title Killer 7. In conventional terms, Kinja Gaiden and Dead or Alive: XBV are some of the most graphically impressive titles out there. Another game that looks incredible is the pseudo-sequel to Ico--I can't remember the title, but it looks amazing. And as much as I think Wind Waker looks awesome, I can't wait for the new realistic game...*drools...*

I thought Kingdom hearts looked great in cutscenes and FFX in CGI. Havent played but Xenosaga II looks fantastic.

You'd think an early PS2 game couldn't have some of the best graphics ever, but the lighting effects and general soft focus in particular make this one of the prettiest games you can possibly play.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
It's like playing an extremely well-animated big-budget cartoon.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
It's pretty ridiculous how detailed the in-game, real-time character models are, from their clothing to their faces to their facial expressions to their bodily movements.

    Nano Breaker
Just the FMV in this case. Again, the characters are approaching photorealism in terms of detail.

    Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
I've only seen the commercials, but from what I hear, they're accurate depictions of the content of the game. As much as The Wind Waker is like playing a cartoon, this game looks like playing a FMV. Remember before the PS2 came out, when you first saw footage of Metal Gear Solid 2 and thought, "Man, I can't believe someday these graphics are going to be commonplace"? That's what's going on here.

    Wanda and the Colossus
The level of detail in the colossuses--enormous beasts that are like mobile puzzles in and of themselves--is incredible, in terms of their appearance as well as their movements.

    The Legend of Zelda 2005
    C'mon, you've seen the trailers.

For me it is Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It fixed the little flaws that MP had. Even though I think the 2D metroids are tiny bit cooler. I thought that FFX-2's Graphics and battle system were awesome!

Jet Set Radio - Great Cell Shading
    ICO - See Kawaii ↑
    Half-Life 2 - Incredibliy good Textures
    DooM 3 - Insane Lighting
Guilty Gear XX - High Rez 2D graphics
    Metroid Prime - Atmosphere

That is all. I picked games that I feel represent the best in what they do. I have yet to see lighting as good as DooM 3 or Textures as good as Half-Life 2. I have yet to see an atmosphere that matches Metroid Prime. I have yet to see a Cell Shaded game that sports as much style as Jet Set Radio. Its all there.

Baten Kaitos : Eternal Wings and The Lost Ocean.

Chrono Cross + GC graphics = Win

All the backgrounds are pre-rendered, but they're so active and detailed it's feels like it's much more, leaves and flags blow in the wind, water trickles softly in a stream.

Heck, once you get up close to seeing the character and monsters you can see how detailed they are too, not in realistic details, it's not trying to be realistic it just looks...good.

Some people say FarCry looks better than Half-Life 2.
