I'm a newbie and I've been on Eoff since March. Unfortunately I'm in the hospital.

My opinion about newbies:
1) Newbie treads are awesome.
2) The newbie themselves may be both good or annoying. It's just like anyone else. Some of them are nice, makes sense and are awesome while others are just annoying.
Example of good newbie: Someone who makes sense and don't write in full caps all the time... and most important... someone who is nice and respect rules and other members.

Example of annoying newbie: THOSE WHO WRITES IN FULL CAPS ALL THE TIME and those who start flaming other members as soon as they have joined.

But most newbies are very nice, fun, good, cool, awesome... and nice.

I think the best newbie is more or less, unofficially, already decided, I'm going for 100th best newbie that way I won't be disappointed....unless I get 101st, but I have the razors & radiohead albums on standby for that.
