Hmm... That's "Battlefield". I've got that on VHS and I agree, it is very good. I've met Tom Baker!

it's the rubbish special effects and poor one dimensional script i don't like.
The special effects at the moment are not THAT bad, and you have to remember: It's a TV show. It has a limited budget compared to Film. And also, Star Trek cheats by basing it's CGI in space where it's just Black. It's harder to interpret CGI on a textured background. I think they're commedable compared to the past.
One-Dimmensional? It's witty, and british humour undercurrent makes it far more then "One-Dimmensional" In my opinion. True, it's basically the same : Doctor goes to place, bad things happen, a conclsion is reached and everyone is happy.
But it's fun. I think you may be taking it FAR too seriously.
