Thread: Upgrading...

    Default Upgrading...

    ...to Windows XP was probably one of the best things I've ever done for this computer. I was running 98 SE because we had ME, but ME well, just plain sucks. I have my windows set to olive green, and my background on crystal. The features I've seen are amazing. I can accually password portect my files now!

    XP is pretty nice. It's really good for networking when as opposed to older Windows versions, as long as you don't have SP2 installed.

    I have two computers, one running XP and the other running 2000. I tend to use the one running 2000 more often, I don't know why.

    XP has treated me fairly nice, but so did win 95.

    I've only had it reinstalled twice so far.

    Which reminds me. I probably should make a backup of stuffX_x;;;

    Network is the area in which XP pleases me, but it also sucks at many areas.

    XP Pro runs quite well for me, it seem to be a step in the right direction in many ways for Microsoft.

    Yeah, other than not allowing me to change my security levels, XP is just fine. As soon as I can reformat to something else without losing any of my coursework and programs, I will.

    I bought a new comp a little over a month ago, and it has XP. Before that I'd been using ME for the last 3 years. I love XP and I've never had a single problem with it.

    XP runs like a dream for me, it is very stable.

    XP is pretty good as far as Microsoft operating systems go. It's more stable than past incarnations (I've yet to see a BSOD on my computer), but I'd still like to explore Linux eventually.

    I'm dual-booting XP Pro and Fedora Core 2 and linux has been perfectly stable. You should look into it.

    As of now, I have neither the hardrive space (anime freak) or the amount of RAM I'd like to be able to do it. Plus, this is currently a shared computer, much to my dismay.

    I probably won't be able to until my next build .

    XP has made my system a lot more stable (compared to ME). I don't know what everyone's beef with SP2 is, because I've not noticed any major problems with it.
