    Golden Sun (GBA)

Have you played it? Should I get it? I made a thread about RPGs on the GBA a LONG time ago but I never got around to getting one, so I have to ask now. I got bored of playing FF games a while ago, but now I kinda want to play an RPG again, and I want something different for my GBA since I don't have much except Pokemon at the moment...

I've played Golden Sun: The Lost Sun, but not the first game. I was pretty impressed with the game. The battles are interesting, and the characters too. I don't know if I would recommend getting Golden Sun, but you will find fun playing it.

You know, there's a Kingdom Hearts game for GBA. You should get that too, if you haven't already, along with Golden Sun.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

I loved Golden Sun. Its a really good game. Theres two parts to it and you'd want to play the first one or the second one might not make much sense to you. Theres a lot of puzzles ,neat Rpg music and interesting characters and the bettles are pretty straight laced RPG. Its great for a game boy game.

If you can get the first one before the second, then yes, it's a good game for the GBA. I think the second one is more interesting if you complete the first, and you also take your clear data code over too Almost like Suikoden in that manner, come to think of it, except you use a code rather than save game, since you can't really share a save game when it's stored on the cartridge

Yeah, I really liked it. It the design of the places is great and the fact that some of your battle abilitys can be used outside of battle is a pretty cool feature (I like casting freeze (stop) on random villagers).
Yeah so I would recommend it.

The first one is a great game. It can be a bit too straight forward, but still a good RPG.

I played the first one and thought it stunk. I was so incredibly turned off by the first one that I never even bothered with the sequel (I shouldn't even call it a sequel, I should call it the trick-ripoff second half of the same damn game they make you pay an extra 30$ for)

And hey, that's great and all. Some people like games that span a couple of installments to tell one story. Take Xenosaga. I like Xenosaga. Even though the game is divided into six parts I like it. But what really gets me fired up about Golden Sun is that they never told you it would be only half a game when it came out. I would have loved that little piece of information when I bought the game.

That's fine, I didn't let that sour my mood too much. What did though were the paper thin characters, annoying puzzles, and GOD THE DIALOGUE. The dialogue drags for ever and ever. The characters repeat your next mission over and over again, but when it comes game time you're still absolutely clueless as to what you are supposed to do next. Don't count on seeing many puzzles besides rolling logs and log like objects either.

What I will say is good about this game is the music though. I believe it was done by the same individual who composed for Star Ocean III. Anybody who can come up with a masterpiece like Highbrow is alright in my book.

This isn't saying you shouldn't pick up this game. My standards are a bit different from the norm. I find that the majority of people who pick this game up end up enjoying it, although there are some that really don't like it. Golden Sun is pretty much either a love it or hate it game. You have to decide which type of gamer you are.

To hell with Battletoads and Double Dragon.
    THIS is the ultimate team.

I liked it, kindna like a mix of zelda and final fantasy. The dialogues are horrible in the first one (I had to get throught them with turbo ), but in the second one they are OK.

I think Golden Sun is 1 of the greatest games for the GBA.

Oh, and get the first one first or else it will be very confusing.

Personally, I really enjoyed the game. The psynergy was fun (Freezing or stop, as someone mentioned before, more so than most of the other spells ^^) I really liked the storyline too. Alex kicks arse.

If it's still there I think I'll be picking it up tomorrow! They had a second hand copy pretty cheap anyway, so I'll just trade it if I don't like it. I think I will though. =)
