Well said. Back in the Attitude Era of 1998-2001 (or thereabouts), the WWE Championship changed hands almost every month at the PPV, and sometimes on the Raw/Smackdown shows! In 2004, the World Championship changed hands only three times, and the WWE Championship changed hands just twice! True, JBL almost killed the belt to begin with, but he grew into a fairly acceptable champion who everyone eventually got behind.
Maybe things aren't quite as bad as they seem.
