I think it's ridiculous having a top 100 albums of all time - period. Do we all have identical music tastes? It's like having a top 10 flavours of ice cream and putting strawberry as number 1, just because most people in a certain sample group like strawberry. Blistering logic, clearly.
Most popular album on the other hand, may be a more suitable title.

I think discussions like this will never end, because people are different in mind and taste. I love both Radiohead and the Beatles. And anyone who's maikng good music, too. There are a lot of extraordinary musicians who will never be named because they are pretty much unknown. Things like this are pretty pointless, in my opinion.

These albums were voted for by the public of the United Kingdom. You don't need to have 'all the same tastes' the fact that 'OK Computer' came first showed it reached beyond genre preferences. That's like saying having a Democracy is stupid because not everyone will like the same party...Fact is, it came first by a popular vote, like it, or dislike it, it has rightly & democratically earned it's number one spot. The Beatle's were good, but VERY over-rated and I, for one, was GLAD to see that the usual suspects didn't get the number one, but a band that continues to push the envelope with every album.

    18. The Verve - Urban Hymns (about right)
    19. Jimi Hendrix - Are you Experienced (bit higher?)
    20. The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead

All these are just my opinion, don't hurt me

I think my top 10 wouldve been
    1. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
    2. Led Zeppelin - IV
    3. Radiohead - The Bends
    4. Nirvana - Nevermind
    5. Coldplay - Parachutes
    6. Jeff Buckley - Grace (Don't understand why this was sooo low)
    7. REM - Automatic for the People
    8. Stone Roses - Stone Roses

    10. Joy Division - Closer

What do you think? were there any that weren't even in the top 100 that shouldv'e been?

I think David Grey - White Ladder, I can't stop listening to it.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.

I watched seabeams glittering at Tanhauser Gate.

I don't think these types of lists work out because you can't be fair and democratic about art. It's art, it means something different to everyone.

Ok Computer is a great album, but I don't think it should've been N.1. Perhaps more Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd.

Wow. OK as #1. Interesting choice.
